BY DECREE OF THE HEAD OF STATE, 2025 HAS BEEN DECLARED THE YEAR OF WORKING PROFESSIONS

As part of this initiative, important measures have been taken to enhance the prestige of working professions and reform the system of technical and vocational education.

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a republican plan for organizing the year of working professions. In addition, a Roadmap for the transformation of vocational and technical education for 2025-2027 has been adopted.

Currently, there are 772 colleges operating in the country, with more than half a million students enrolled. From September 1, 2025, the amount of per capita funding for technical and vocational education organizations will double.

Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev particularly emphasized the measures being implemented to enhance the prestige of working professions. These include:
 • Modern material and technical base
 • Improving the qualifications of teachers
 • Attracting business structures and investors
 • Developing the dual education system

10 colleges in Kazakhstan will begin to implement the best global management practices and the process of internationalization. Exchange of experience with foreign colleges will enhance the professional competencies of teachers and allow students to improve their knowledge within the framework of academic mobility.

Important events:
 1. A National Competence Center will be established in Astana, which will support and develop students in technical and vocational education.
 2. TURKISkills-2025, the first professional skills championship among Turkic-speaking countries, will be held in Aktau.

The main goal of 2025 is to train competitive working specialists, raise the quality of vocational and technical education to a new level, and strengthen the status of working professions.
