As part of the "College Passionate About Reading" project, on March 12, the library staff of the Isatay Abdikarimov Kyzylorda Polytechnic Higher College organized a virtual book exhibition titled "Feature Films Based on Books" with the aim of artistic and spiritual education of readers by combining reading printed books with the use of multimedia products. The exhibition
was attended by 1st-year students from the "Polytechnic Specialties" department and 3rd-year students from the "Agricultural Specialties" department with group curators A. Akhmetova and B. Bekmuratova.
The purpose of the event: To promote the value of fiction and introduce students and readers to classical and modern works, to provide information about films made based on these books in our country. The exhibition presented the best screen adaptations of world and Kazakh literature, which were compared with their book versions.
During the exhibition, viewers received information about the influence of books on the film industry, the history of famous screen adaptations, and the connection between literary works and their screen images.
Main sections of the exhibition:
1. "Reflections of Kazakh literature on screen. Transformation of literary works into cinema".
2. World bestsellers and their screen adaptations.
This virtual exhibition shows the close connection between books and cinema. Literature and cinematography develop in parallel, complementing each other.
Our main goal was to show readers the importance of reading books and the possibilities of drawing inspiration from literature. Viewers enjoyed excerpts from films and books and shared their thoughts. This event provided new knowledge and inspiration, once again proving the inseparable connection between books and cinema art. By connecting the content of literary works with films based on books of different genres, readers can not only watch movies but also read them through books. Each book has its own meaning and history. Literature and cinema are closely related art forms. Through films, we can discover new facets of books, and through books, we understand the deep content of cinema.
